Who am I?
My name is Robert Cardillo and my service with the Department of the Navy began in August 1997, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Sergeant and providing direct support to the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer. My responsibilities included roles as Forward Observer, Field Radio Operator, Communications Platoon Sergeant, and Maintenance Management Chief for Lima Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines. I played a pivotal role in leading logistics operations to successfully relocate an Artillery Battery from Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, California, to Okinawa, Japan.
Following my military service, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Law with a Minor in Business from Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduation, I joined Gavin de Becker and Associates, delivering threat assessments and personal protection services to high-profile public figures.
In 2005, I transitioned to consulting for the Drug Enforcement Administration (HQ), supporting the New Orleans and St. Louis Field Divisions to support the effort after Hurricane Katrina.
In the fall of 2006, I assumed the role of Systems Lead for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) in support of PEO Ships: PMS377/317. In this capacity, I spearheaded the development and implementation of the Amphibious GFE Management Processes, working closely with the GFE Logistics team and Program Acquisition Resource Managers to ensure the seamless execution and delivery of GFE systems. Additionally, I provided Integrated Logistics Support, encompassing maintenance planning, supply chain management, data oversight, and technical manual development.
Since joining The Indian Head Warfare Center in November 2010, I have successfully procured critical components for Major Caliber Munitions, optimizing the use of expiring funds and diverse contract vehicles. In December 2011, I took on the dual roles of G2 Configuration Manager and as a procurement IPT member, leveraging my extensive acquisition expertise to manage the procurement of Small, Medium, Intermediate, and Major Caliber Munitions. I am currently serving as (civilian) the Configuration Manager C.C.M.P.
